Protector+ legal
Privacy Policy
Effective September 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how information may be handled when you use the Protector+ mobile application, website, support channels, subscriptions, and related security or privacy features (the “Services”). Actual processing depends on the features you choose, permissions you grant, your device and platform, and the version available in your region.
1. Information We Collect
Protector+ follows a data-minimization approach. Depending on how you use the Services, the following categories may be collected or processed:
- Device information: device type, operating-system and app version, language, general region, settings, identifiers generated for an installation, and compatibility signals;
- Technical diagnostics: feature performance, processing duration, configuration state, timestamps, and related troubleshooting data;
- IP and network information: IP address, connection type, network name or characteristics, routing status, and signals used to evaluate a connection or operate a VPN;
- Security scan results: risk scores, detected configuration issues, potentially unsafe network indicators, exposure matches, and actions taken in response;
- User-provided data: information you enter in support requests, feedback, account fields, or feature inputs;
- Subscription and purchase information: product identifier, entitlement status, trial or renewal state, transaction identifier, purchase date, storefront, and country or price tier;
- Analytics: app launches, feature interactions, screen or workflow events, referral information, and aggregated usage patterns;
- Crash and error information: crash traces, error codes, device state at the time of failure, and diagnostic logs.
A category listed here is not necessarily collected in every case. Some processing may happen entirely on your device, and granting a device permission does not mean every accessible item is transmitted to us.
2. How We Use Information
Where applicable, information may be used to:
- provide requested security, privacy, VPN, filtering, scan, storage, and monitoring features;
- display security status and deliver relevant warnings or recommendations;
- authenticate entitlements, restore purchases, and administer subscriptions;
- respond to support requests and communicate about service issues;
- diagnose failures, maintain compatibility, measure reliability, and improve usability;
- protect the Services and users against fraud, misuse, unauthorized access, and technical attacks;
- comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce applicable agreements.
When required, we rely on a valid legal basis such as performance of a contract, consent, legitimate interests in operating secure Services, or compliance with legal obligations.
3. Device and Security Data
Security functions may need to inspect device configuration, network conditions, application state, or user-selected content. Depending on the feature, this inspection may produce a score, alert, category, or remediation suggestion. Processing may occur locally or may involve a service provider when remote threat intelligence, identity exposure matching, VPN routing, or cloud-assisted diagnostics are enabled.
Protector+ may request access to notifications, network information, photos, files, or other operating-system capabilities only when a feature requires them. You can review and revoke permissions in device settings, though the related feature may then be unavailable. Protector+ is not intended to read protected-content files merely for advertising or unrelated profiling.
4. Analytics
Limited analytics may be used to understand which workflows are useful, whether features perform correctly, and where users encounter errors. Analytics may include event names, approximate timestamps, app version, device category, and a pseudonymous installation identifier. Where practical, reporting is aggregated or de-identified. The available app or device settings may allow you to limit optional analytics.
5. Payments and Subscriptions
Purchases are generally processed by Apple or another authorized app marketplace. We may receive an entitlement record or transaction metadata needed to unlock paid features and verify subscription status. We do not receive your complete payment-card number, storefront password, or full payment credentials from the marketplace. The marketplace handles those details under its own privacy policy.
6. Data Sharing
Information may be disclosed only as reasonably necessary to:
- vendors that provide hosting, diagnostics, analytics, support, subscription validation, threat intelligence, or network infrastructure under appropriate contractual restrictions;
- app stores and payment platforms for purchase administration and fraud prevention;
- professional advisers, regulators, courts, or authorities when required by law or necessary to protect legal rights and safety;
- a successor involved in a merger, financing, reorganization, or transfer of the Services, subject to applicable safeguards.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share protected content or security scan results for cross-context behavioral advertising. Service providers are permitted to use information only for the work they perform for Protector+ or as law requires.
7. Data Retention
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was processed. Retention periods may differ: active subscription records may be kept while an entitlement is valid; support messages may be retained through resolution and a reasonable recordkeeping period; diagnostic events may be kept for a limited reliability-analysis window; and transaction or compliance records may be retained for periods required by tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or legal rules.
Data processed solely on your device is subject to the device and operating system’s deletion behavior. Removing the app may delete app-managed local data, but it does not cancel a subscription or erase records maintained by an app store. Aggregated information that no longer identifies you may be retained for product analysis.
8. Data Security
We use technical and organizational controls intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. Depending on the system, controls may include encrypted transmission, access restrictions, separation of duties, secure development practices, monitoring, and vendor review. No mobile device, network, or storage service can be guaranteed completely secure, and Protector+ cannot promise that a threat will never succeed.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection; to withdraw consent; and to appeal or complain to a data-protection authority. These rights may be subject to identity verification and lawful exceptions. You can also change device permissions, optional analytics choices, and subscription settings through the relevant device or marketplace controls.
To make a privacy request, use the contact method below and describe the right you want to exercise. Do not include passwords, verification codes, or sensitive security details in the request.
10. International Processing
Providers supporting the Services may operate in countries other than yours. When information is transferred internationally, appropriate safeguards are used where required, such as contractual protections or recognized transfer mechanisms. Local privacy rights remain available as applicable.
11. Children’s Privacy
Protector+ is not directed to children below the minimum age at which they may independently consent to digital services in their location. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children who cannot provide valid consent. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information may contact us so the situation can be reviewed and appropriate action taken.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as the Services, technology, or legal requirements change. The current version will be published here with a revised effective date. Additional notice will be provided when required for a material change. We encourage you to review the Policy periodically.
13. Contact
For privacy questions, rights requests, or concerns about information handling, use the Protector+ support form and identify the request as privacy-related. We may ask for limited information to verify the request and protect your account or data from unauthorized disclosure.
